Our Story

The Beginning: A Dream Takes Flight


Team Arrow was founded in 2016 by Darshit Desai, a visionary student passionate about fixed-wing aircraft. With the guidance of our faculty advisor, Prof. Absar Lakdawala, and the support of five dedicated students from the Electronics and Communication Department, the journey began.




Our first major challenge?


The SAE DDC Micro Class Competition! Competing under the name Team Avelons, we secured an impressive 5th overall rank in our very first attempt! This marked the start of our thrilling journey into the world of UAV technology.

Our Projects

Over the years, Team Arrow has designed, built, and tested 20+ UAVs, ranging from agile multirotors to long-range autonomous fixed-wing systems. Our portfolio includes VTOL drones, autonomous drones , and fixed-wing built for complex missions. Every project reflects our commitment to innovation, reliability, and excellence in unmanned aerial systems.

Hybrid UAV

A next-generation UAV capable of seamless transitions between vertical takeoff (VTOL) and high-speed cruise modes, utilizing advanced AI-driven control surfaces for maximum efficiency.

Drone Swarm

A coordinated multi-agent system designed for autonomous mission execution. Features decentralized communication and real-time formation adaptation for complex tasks.

GPS-denied Navigation

Robust deep learning-based navigation systems enabling precise localization and mapping in GPS-denied environments through visual odometry and SLAM.
